Taxi and private hire training overview

The Safeguarding sessions are delivered remotely via video conferencing tools.  Each session will last between 2 and 2 ½ hours.  Candidates should access the meeting by laptop/ tablet – phones are not ideal as the presentation is screen shared.

Please be aware that enrolment closes for each course three working days before the date it is due to take place.

*Cheltenham private hire drivers who have already attended the training day but would like to upgrade to a hackney carriage licence will be required to pay the £40 fee to resit the hackney carriage geographical knowledge test.

Booking and joining instructions

To book your place, please contact the licensing section by email licensing@cheltenham.gov.uk giving us your full name, a contact number and which licensing authority you are licensed with/applying to. We will then provide details of how to pay. 

Alternatively you can book your taxi licensing training online.

As spaces are limited, we advise that you contact us to book your place as far in advance as possible.

Please note that you must confirm and pay for your booking no later than 12noon two working days prior to the training or test date. Late bookings will not be accepted. For example, if the session is scheduled for Thursday, your booking must be confirmed and paid for no later than noon on the Tuesday of that week.
